Myofascial Release

John F. Barnes Approach to Myofascial Release®

Myofascial Release is a gentle hands-on therapy that applies gentle “pressure” or “stretch” to areas of tightness. It is performed directly on the skin without the use of oils, creams or lotions. This prevents any “sliding” from happening when treating the area of concern. Each hand placement is sustained for at least 5 minutes until the tissue releases.

Upon release, pressure is removed from pain sensitive structures allowing freedom of movement and improved posture. This approach has uncovered the cause of most pain and dysfunction that is invisible to standard medical tests.

CranioSacral Therapy

Dr. John E. Upledger CranioSacral Therapy CST

A light-touch, whole-body treatment method developed by John E. Upledger, DO, OMM; works with the body's CranioSacral System to support and nourish the Central

Nervous System – improving overall health and well-being.

This gentle hands-on approach releases tensions deep within the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole body health. With very light touch, restrictions can be released in the soft tissues surrounding the CranioSacral System, which includes membranes and CSF fluid that surround, protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord. Various locations of the body are tested for ease of motion and rhythm. Overall, it is about connecting the nerve roots in the body to its surrounding connective tissue.

Katelyn has completed the CST Level 1 - Assessment of Central Nervous System and Fascia for Full Body Treatment Protocol

Therapeutic Breast Massage

Breasts hold deep significance in our lives, symbolizing femininity, sexuality, and the ability to nurture. However, the experiences and sensitivities tied to them can sometimes cause us to forget that, at their core, breasts are simply body tissues with the same ordinary needs as any other part of our body.

Many individuals have scars which cause breast pain, 'pulling', and the development of pockets of swelling. Treatment is focused on specific massage and drainage techniques that help to increase blood flow, decrease toxins, release muscle tension, provide recovery from any breast trauma and benefit your particular breast concerns.

Breast Massage helps lymph drainage, hormonal balancing, increased circulation. It is a valued treatment for all genders, especially post surgical recovery after Augmentation, Reduction, Mastectomy, Gender-Affirming/Top Surgery. It is a safe, inclusive and honouring session dedicated to a client's need.
